About Us

In 1990, the Dominican Center for Women was founded in Minneapolis, Minnesota by two Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters, Ann Halloran and Anne-Marie Doyle.

Although Sister Doyle passed away in 2005, Sister Halloran continues to expand the Center's significant and vital mission to dismantle poverty in Milwaukee.

This dream is steadily becoming a reality through the courage and support of an amazing group of women and men who make up the Dominican Center.

On June 30, 2010, Sister Ann Halloran retired. Click here for June 29 Journal/Sentinel Article.

Sara Kierzek replaced Sister Ann as the new Excecutive Director of the Dominican Center for Women and is continuing the dream with a focus on education, housing, and jobs.

This is their story.
