Educate
The Dominican Center offers a personal, goal-directed, supportive environment in which Amani residents can reach their educational goals. Our adult education program offers three main focus areas: adult basic education, community education, and arts and culture. Each student meets with the education coordinator to determine the individual’s literacy goals for the year. The Center staff and volunteer tutors work closely with each student in helping them realize their potential.
The Dominican Center is accepting enrollment in no fee Adult Education classes. Student writing
Finding words to describe one's life journey is sometimes difficult. Dominican Center students write everyday, learning to express their wisdom, heart ache and hope. Below you will find their marvelous stories.
Volunteer Tutors
Volunteer tutors are an integral part of adult education at the Dominican Center. Not only do they provide academic support, but they offer friendship. The care and trust that is fostered through friendship is critical to self and community efficacy necessary to the overall goal of neighborhood revitalization. Thank you tutors!
