OUR MISSION
The Dominican Center works with Amani residents and partners to build a better future.
We support a resident-led revitalization effort to foster social change, partnering with Amani residents to increase access to quality education, improve health outcomes within the community and contribute to economic development.
We are a resource for residents in the areas of adult education, housing and building neighborhood capacity, offering them support in a welcoming, compassionate and responsive environment.

Farming for the FutureIf you walk past the Dominican Center at 24th and Locust in the heart of the Amani neighborhood, you will see something you could never expect. A warm red glow radiates from the basement windows. Inside is DC's hydroponics lab and what hits you first are the smells of spring and the walls of glistening green produce.

CELEBRATING AMANI ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Each year, we put together a report about positive things happening in the Amani neighborhood. We call this the "Amani Brag Report" because neighborhood partners are asked to "brag" on themselves and report about on their year of good deeds.
There are many organizations that work together every day in Amani to bring resources to the neighborhood. The Amani Report (or the Amani Brag Book, as we like to call it) is a collection of partner submitted accomplishments throughout the year. |

Curbing Reckless Driving: Help Bring Traffic Calming Planters to Amani
Reckless driving is a problem across Milwaukee and the Amani Neighborhood would like to do something about it. We have seen the success other neighborhoods have had with Traffic Calming Planters, and would like to see them installed at the busiest intersections in Amani.
We've signed a petition to install the planters in Amani. If you would like to help, add your name to the petition and SHARE it with anyone who lives, works or plays in Amani. Sign it here: https://chng.it/4hqLzTPyQM |
