Acts Housing is committed to make homeownership available to all Milwaukee residents. As a nonprofit real estate brokerage, Acts Housing is here to help families overcome income, credit, and language barriers. Families are supported through the process of switching from renter to homeowner through financial literacy, home buyer, and home repair counseling.

African American Round Table is an assembly serving Black community in Wisconsin. African American Round Table aims to empower members of the Black community through policy change and leadership opportunities. By providing civic engagement tools, African American Round Table is dedicated to making change towards racial equity.

Auer Ave School serves students from K3 to 5th grade, dedicated to building leadership, character, and creativity in youth. Auer Ave school has a team of teachers and staff that are committed to meeting the academic and well-being needs of every child.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee is dedicated to empowering local youth through academic and recreational programs. Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee provides access to sports and the arts, safety, meals, and strong role models to promote academic and career success for the youth of the community.

Black Leaders Organizing for Communities (BLOC) is a Milwaukee nonprofit organization advocating for political action to ensure equal economic opportunity and high quality of life for members of the Black community. BLOC is dedicated to empowering Black leaders, citizens, and businesses with resources to ensure that their needs and values are represented in the government.

The Milwaukee Community Development Block Grant is used for housing rehab programs, special economic development relating to job and business development, and public service programs such as crime prevention, job training, housing for homeless, youth recreation programs and community organization programs.

COA Youth & Family Centers helps Milwaukee children, teens, and families reach their greatest potential through a continuum of educational, recreational, and social work programs offered through its urban community centers and rural camp facility. Hephatha Lutheran Church has stood at the corner of Locust and 18th Street in Milwaukee for 100 years. Pastor Mary Martha Kannass accepted a call to Hephatha Lutheran Church in the early ’90s and twenty-one years later, Hephatha is an important community anchor in the neighborhood working to make the community safer and healthier.

Wisconsin Black Historical Society is a museum located on N 27th St and W Center St, aiming to preserve the history and heritage of African descent in Wisconsin. The Wisconsin Black Historical Society is dedicated to being a resource center for African American history that promotes a family and cultural community to build a brighter future.

AMANI UNITED
Milwaukee’s Amani neighborhood partnership, Amani United, represents a network of residents, community stakeholders, faith-based communities, local businesses, organizational partners and public and private funders that have embraced a collaborative theme of “resident-led” positive change.
